Have you ever wondered: Where is heaven? Who will be there? What will we do all the time? Will my dog/hamster/cat be in heaven? A Dictionary definition reads – “in some religions, the place, sometimes imagined to be in the sky, where God or the gods live and where good people are believed to go after they die, so that they can enjoy perfect happiness”.

Does that answer our questions?  Not for me!  It’s too vague and the concept of Heaven remains a mystery.  1 Corinthians 2.9 tells us  “No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” So…

Where is Heaven?  It’s where God is.

Who will be there?   John 3.16 makes this clear “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

What will we be doing in Heaven?  Revelation 7:15-17 tells us we will be before the throne of God and serve Him day and night and he will shelter us with his presence.

Will my dog/hamster/cat be in Heaven? We’ll have to wait and see!

What are the certainties then? In heaven we will have new bodies [no blindness, no deafness, no aching joints!]  Isaiah 35.5,6

The Bible tells us in John 14.3 “I am going to prepare a place for you.  When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am”.
