v 13. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
This is a key passage on which to end the week; our harmony springs from a spiritual base, not simply social convenience or even plain good will. Our walking together as Church is directly linked to our common bond as children of God. You were baptised into Christ, and into His body, the Church, and you share the common indwelling of the Holy Spirit. How on earth could you NOT learn to walk together in harmony and love one another? This is a huge challenge in our age of individualism because it means putting Christ first, and then others before I begin to think of what suits me. Please don’t try to dodge that challenge this week.
